PRESIDENT

Name: Ashoka Jayarathne

Mr. Jayarathne is a veteran agronomist who graduated from the Hardy Senior Technical Institute in 1980. He specialises in Animal and Crop Husbandry and is a respected specialist in breeding ornamental fish.

He served as a Unit Manager at the H5 Piolet Project in Nochchiyagama as a pioneer member of the Mahaweli Development Project. He worked with U S Save the Children, S O S Agridev Expo Lanka and Rekadahena Plantations. He retired as Plantation Manager at Informatics Agro Tech managing two thousand acres.

General Secretary

Name: Mr. Sunil Chandrakumara

Mr. Sunil Chandrakumara is a highly experienced professional in the telecommunications outside plant (OSP) sector. He graduated from the prestigious Hardy Senior Technical Institute in 1980.

He began his career with the Telecommunications Department of Sri Lanka. In 1985, he moved to Japan, where he worked for two years (1985–1987) as an Instrumentation Engineer with the Asahi Group of Companies, specializing in factory automation and control systems. Upon returning to Sri Lanka, he briefly worked with Kokusai Keiso Company, which was involved in the Outside Plant cable overlay project under the Colombo Area Development initiative from 1987 to 1989.

In 1989, he accepted an overseas assignment in the United Arab Emirates, joining Etisalat, the national telecommunications carrier. He served the organization with distinction until his retirement in 2023.

With over four decades of expertise in outside plant design, planning, and implementation, Mr. Chandrakumara has made significant contributions to the telecommunications sector. During his tenure as a Manager at Etisalat—now known as e&, a leading UAE-based global technology and telecommunications conglomerate—he played a key role in the transformation of the network from legacy copper infrastructure to a robust fiber optic system across the UAE.

 

Following his retirement, he is actively engaged in social work and charitable initiatives, contributing to several organizations dedicated to supporting communities in need across Sri Lanka.

TREASURER

Name: Rtd. Brigadier Ranjith Peramune

Brigadier Peramune graduated from Hardy Senior Technical Institute in 1981 after completing the National Diploma in Technology in Electrical Engineering. In 1985 he joined the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Services Corps as a Garrison Engineer with the rank of Second Lieutenant.

He commanded the 3 Engineer Services Regiment and the 1 Engineer Services Regiment. He later became Director Engineer Services at Army Headquarters and was appointed Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services which is the highest ranking role within the CES.

Mr. Anura Perera

Mr. Anura kumara Perera graduated from the prestigious Hardy Senior Technical Institute in 1980
after which he was assigned to Satellite Earth Station of Overseas Communication services in Sri Lanka
as a maintenance officer for Ground communication equipment and antenna sub-system .
In 1983 he had joined to Satellite Earth Station and worked at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) until his retirement from the service in 2023.

During his dedicated work experience, he had worked as a Senior Engineer and nominated for numerous overseas missions on behalf of Emirates Telecommunication ( Etisalat) to provide Satellite communication .

He is now keenly engaged with Social activities and Charity services in Sri Lanka.

Mr. Jayantha Athaudha

Senior Telecommunications professional with 30+ years of experience across the Middle East and Sri Lanka, including Saudi Telephone (STC – KSA), Etisalat (UAE), and Dialog Axiata Sri Lanka. Progressed from hands-on engineering roles to Assistant Manager and Unit Manager, with 13 years at Dialog leading network operations, engineering teams, and service delivery units. Highly skilled in telecom infrastructure operations, network maintenance, fault management, and performance optimization, with a strong reputation for leadership, reliability, and mentoring technical teams. Retired after a distinguished career delivering high-quality, mission-critical telecommunications services.

Mr. Rohan Wathuge, C.Eng.

Mr. Rohan Wathuge is a highly experienced Chartered Mechanical Engineer with extensive local and international experience spanning construction, piling, petroleum, transport, and industrial engineering sectors. He has held senior managerial and executive engineering positions in leading organizations in Sri Lanka, the Middle East, and the United States. His strong technical background, combined with proven leadership in operations, asset management, and organizational oversight, enables him to contribute effectively to financial governance, strategic planning, and sustainable management within the Association.

Mr. Maximus Perera

Mr. Maximus Perera is an experienced mechanical engineer who graduated from Hardy Advanced Technological Institute and the University of Moratuwa. He has held key positions at the Ceylon Cement Corporation, Plywood Corporation, and the Ceylon Electricity Board, and later worked at the Harlsden Thermal Power Station (NW10), United Kingdom. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of CEYMAX (Pvt) Ltd.

Mr. Susantha Wijayakulathilaka

Mr. Wijayakulathilaka is an accomplished business professional, presently serves as the
Chairman and Managing Director of Crystal Agro (Pvt) Ltd., specializing in high-tech fertilizers for Sri Lanka’s agriculture sector. Graduate of Hardy ATI, Ampara (1985–1987) with strong experience in agribusiness and He servs as The VP business management and Former President of the Old Hardians’ Association (2021–2023).

Eng. K. Dhammika de Zoysa

Eng. K. Dhammika de Zoysa entered the Hardy Technical Institute in 1979 and has built a distinguished career in engineering and telecommunications. He is a Member of the Institution of Incorporated Engineers, Sri Lanka (IIESL) and a Member of the Engineers’ Guild of Sri Lanka. He also holds a graduation certificate from the prestigious City & Guilds Institute.

He commenced his professional journey at the Cement Corporation, Puttalam Works, and later served at Sri Lanka Telecom PLC, where he contributed significantly to the development and advancement of telecommunication infrastructure in Sri Lanka. His international exposure includes professional service with Electroman LLC in Oman.

Eng. de Zoysa further enhanced his expertise by participating in specialized telecommunications training programs conducted in the United Kingdom, Germany, Malaysia, and Japan, reflecting his strong commitment to continuous professional development and global best practices.

He is currently enjoying his well-earned retirement, residing in Kollupitiya, Colombo, after a career marked by technical excellence, international experience, and dedicated professional service.
