Annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony Celebrates Excellence at Hardy ATI

The Annual Scholarship Award Ceremony of the Old Hardians’ Association, the alumni body of the Hardy Advanced Technological Institute, Ampara, was held on 15th February 2026 with great pride and enthusiasm, recognizing outstanding academic achievement and reaffirming the alumni’s commitment to the development of the institute.

The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests including the Director General of the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education, Mr. Chandana Rodrigo; Deputy Director General Mr. Keerthi Nawarathne; District Secretary of Ampara Mr. Chinthaka Abeywickrama; and Director of Hardy ATI Dr. S. Vijayanathan. The event was also attended by academic and non-academic staff members, students, and members of the Old Hardians’ Association.

Representing the alumni leadership were President Mr. Ashoka Jayarathne, Secretary Mr. Sunil Chandrakumara, Treasurer Brig. Ranjith Peramune (Rtd.), and numerous Old Hardians. Inspiring speeches were delivered by the President and Secretary of OHA, the Director General of SLIATE, the District Secretary, and the Director of Hardy ATI, highlighting the importance of academic excellence, unity, and alumni support.

Scholarships were awarded to six top-performing students from each HND stream, namely Higher National Diploma in Accountancy, National Diploma in Information Technology, National Diploma in Management, National Diploma in Agriculture, National Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management, and National Diploma in English. Each recipient received a memorial certificate in honour of Prof. Evan A. Hardy along with a financial award.

The Old Hardians’ Association reaffirmed its commitment to work tirelessly to uplift and enhance the standards of this prestigious institution, ensuring a brighter future for its students and the nation.
